Just a few hours after the dismal estimates regarding Nikola Jovic’s status for the upcoming Olympic Games surfaced, it seems that optimism has started to set in in Serbia‘s camp.
The Miami Heat forward, who is dealing with an ankle injury, has started practicing individually with high intensity. According to Mozzart Sport, since Jovic is training in Belgrade and his body, and especially his feet, react well to the strong rhythm, there is optimism that the 21-year-old player will travel with Serbia to the Olympic Games.
Per the report, Jovic is recovering, working under the watchful eye of coaches, doctors and physiotherapists, who send positive signals to Abu Dhabi, where Serbia are stationed ahead of their friendly games against Australia (July 15) and Team USA (July 17) .
Mozzart Sport was also told that a meeting with Miami coach Erik Spoelstra has been planned. The federation and the national team worked on the player’s complete recovery in full communication with the Heat, so the conversation with Spoelstra is expected considering that he is there and that the Serbian national team has been in the UAE since Sunday morning
