The West Virginia University (WVU) community is mourning the devastating loss of linebacker Lee Kpogba, who tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident yesterday. Kpogba, a senior and one of the Mountaineers’ most influential players, was known for his leadership on and off the field.

 

The accident occurred on a highway near Morgantown, according to local authorities. While details are still emerging, initial reports indicate that adverse weather conditions may have been a contributing factor. Emergency responders arrived on the scene quickly but were unable to save Kpogba, who was pronounced dead at the site.

 

Kpogba, 22, was a standout player for WVU, serving as a defensive anchor and a role model for his teammates. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he joined the Mountaineers after a standout high school and collegiate career.
