Fans of The Cure have reason to celebrate as the legendary British rock band has announced an exciting new chapter in their iconic career. The band is gearing up to release a brand-new album, their first since *4:13 Dream* in 2008. Alongside the album, The Cure will embark on a massive European tour spanning the entirety of 2025, featuring a mix of arena performances and intimate shows in select cities.
The upcoming album, titled *Shadows in the Light*, promises to be a journey through the band’s signature mix of emotional depth and innovative soundscapes. Frontman Robert Smith hinted at the album’s themes during a recent interview, describing it as “a reflection of both the turbulence and beauty we’ve experienced in recent years.” The band has also teased collaborations with several contemporary artists, aiming to merge their classic sound with modern influences.
The European tour is set to kick off in January 2025 in London, with stops in major cities such as Paris, Berlin, and Rome, as well as lesser-toured locations like Prague and Oslo. Fans can also look forward to special performances at iconic venues, including the O2 Arena and the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. The tour will culminate with a grand finale in The Cure’s hometown of Crawley, England, in December 2025.
Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available starting February 15, 2025, with general sales opening two days later. To celebrate the announcement, The Cure will release the album’s lead single, “Whispering Echoes,” on February 1, 2025, accompanied by a music video directed by long-time collaborator Tim Pope.
With a legacy spanning decades, The Cure continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Their new album and tour promise to be a monumental event for both long-time fans and a new generation discovering the band’s timeless magic.
