Galder Announces Departure from Dimmu Borgir After Nearly 25 Years.

 

In a heartfelt and shocking announcement, Øystein “Galder” Brun, one of the longest-standing members of Dimmu Borgir, has revealed his departure from the iconic Norwegian symphonic black metal band. Galder, who joined the group in 2000, played a crucial role in shaping Dimmu Borgir’s signature sound, contributing to some of their most critically acclaimed albums, including *Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia* and *Death Cult Armageddon*.

Galder shared the news via a personal statement on his social media channels, expressing both gratitude and sadness. “After nearly 25 incredible years with Dimmu Borgir, I have decided to step away,” he wrote. “This has been the most transformative journey of my life, filled with unforgettable memories, challenges, and achievements. However, it is time for me to explore new paths, both musically and personally.”

The guitarist cited a desire to focus on new creative ventures and spend more time with his family as the primary reasons for his departure.
