Anthony Davis Appointed as Head Coach of Fountain-Fort Carson High School Boys Basketball Team
Fountain-Fort Carson High School (FFCHS) has announced the appointment of Anthony Davis as the new head coach for its boys’ basketball team. A 2013 alumnus of FFCHS, Davis brings a wealth of experience both as a former student-athlete and as an educator within the district.
During his time at FFCHS, Davis was a dual-sport athlete, participating in both basketball and football. His athletic prowess earned him a spot at the University of Northern Colorado, where he continued his football career and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. Demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence, Davis furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.
In recent years, Davis has been an integral part of the FFCHS community, serving as a Social Studies teacher and contributing to the athletic department as an assistant coach for both basketball and football teams. His deep-rooted connection to the school and the local community positions him uniquely to lead and inspire the next generation of student-athletes.
Athletic Director Jarrett Sweckard expressed enthusiasm about Davis’s new role, stating, “Anthony will be a great addition to our Fountain-Fort Carson head coaching staff.” Davis himself conveyed a heartfelt commitment to his alma mater, remarking, “I’m looking forward to giving back to the community that gave so much to me. I’m excited to support the process of maturing young men into what they can be.”
Davis’s journey through the Fountain-Fort Carson School District is a testament to his enduring dedication. Having attended Mountainside Elementary, Fountain Middle School, and FFCHS, he embodies the spirit and values of the district. His return as head coach signifies a full-circle moment, bringing his experiences as a student, athlete, educator, and mentor to bear in guiding the Trojans to future successes.
The FFCHS community eagerly anticipates the impact Coach Davis will have on the basketball program. His leadership is expected to foster not only athletic excellence but also personal growth and character development among the players. As the new season approaches, the Trojans are poised to embark on a promising chapter under Davis’s
guidance.
