CONGRATULATIONS: Swindon teenager Josh is thrilled after signing a £10 million endorsement deal with the prestigious fashion brand Burberry…
At 17, Josh Taylor still couldn’t tie a tie properly—but that didn’t matter anymore.
The news broke on a rainy Thursday afternoon, and by Friday morning, Josh’s name was plastered across social media, fashion blogs, and news sites. Swindon, a town more known for roundabouts than runways, had just produced the UK’s youngest Burberry ambassador.
Josh had always stood out—not in the way that won him points in school, but in the way that made his TikTok videos go viral. His DIY fashion clips, filmed in his bedroom using bedsheets, vintage charity shop finds, and a glue gun, had caught the attention of millions. His most iconic video? A trench coat made entirely from recycled crisp packets. That was the one Burberry noticed.
“I thought it was a prank,” Josh admitted, laughing in an interview with British Vogue. “Like, who calls a Swindon lad and offers him ten million quid to wear coats?”
The deal came with global campaigns, red carpet appearances, and a custom clothing line inspired by Josh’s unfiltered creativity. But Josh stayed grounded. He still walked his little sister to school. Still ordered cheesy chips from the local takeaway. Still posted chaotic, charming videos from his bedroom.
Burberry’s creative director called him “a new face of British youth—authentic, unpredictable, and completely fearless.” And maybe that was true.
But when asked what the first thing he did was after signing the deal, Josh just smiled.
“I let Mum scream for a bit,” he said. “Then I made us both a cup of tea.”
And just like that, Swindon had a new icon.
