DeMar DeRozan to Return to USC Trojans for Special Appearance Next Week
Los Angeles, CA – Former USC Trojans basketball standout and current NBA star DeMar DeRozan is set to make a highly anticipated return to his alma mater next week. The Chicago Bulls forward announced his visit on social media, expressing excitement to reconnect with the USC community and inspire the next generation of athletes.
DeRozan played for the Trojans during the 2008-2009 season, where he made an immediate impact as a freshman. Averaging 13.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, he led the Trojans to a Pac-10 Tournament Championship and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Following his successful college stint, DeRozan declared for the NBA Draft and was selected ninth overall by the Toronto Raptors. Since then, he has blossomed into a six-time NBA All-Star and one of the league’s most respected veterans.
During his visit, DeRozan will participate in a series of events, including a meet-and-greet with fans, a skills clinic for young athletes, and a special Q&A session with current USC basketball players. The university will also honor him during halftime at an upcoming Trojans basketball game, celebrating his contributions to the program and his illustrious professional career.
“I owe so much to USC for shaping me into the person and player I am today,” DeRozan said in a statement. “Coming back is always special, and I look forward to giving back to the community that gave me so much.”
The visit has already generated buzz among USC students and alumni, with tickets for the public events expected to sell out quickly. DeRozan’s return highlights the strong bond between USC’s athletic program and its accomplished alumni, inspiring future Trojans to follow in his footsteps.
