Jaxson Robinson Returns to BYU, Admits Regret Over Kentucky Decision
Jaxson Robinson, the talented guard who made waves at BYU last season, has officially announced his return to the Cougars. Alongside his announcement, Robinson candidly admitted he regrets his decision to sign with the University of Kentucky before transferring to BYU.
“Looking back, it’s a regret I signed a deal with Kentucky,” Robinson said in a heartfelt statement. “At the time, I thought it was the right move for my career, but it became clear pretty quickly that it wasn’t the best fit for me as a player or a person.”
Robinson’s journey has been anything but conventional. After starting his collegiate career at Texas A&M, he made a high-profile move to Kentucky, a program known for its rich basketball tradition. However, his stint with the Wildcats was short-lived, and he soon transferred to BYU, where he found both comfort and success.
During his first season with the Cougars, Robinson impressed with his scoring ability, defensive skills, and leadership, quickly becoming a key piece of Mark Pope’s roster. His return is a major boost for BYU as they gear up for their second season in the Big 12 Conference, widely regarded as one of the toughest leagues in college basketball.
BYU head coach Mark Pope expressed his excitement over Robinson’s return. “Jaxson is a huge part of what we’re building here at BYU. His talent and character make him an invaluable part of our team, and we’re thrilled to have him back.”
Robinson now looks forward to building on his success at BYU and helping the team compete at the highest level. “This is where I’m meant to be,” he said. “I’m ready to give everything I have to this team and this university.”
