  • Nebraska Football Mourns the Loss of Quarterback Jalyn Gramstad

 

The Nebraska Cornhuskers football program is deeply saddened to announce the passing of quarterback Jalyn Gramstad. Details surrounding his death have not been disclosed at this time.

 

Gramstad, a native of Lester, Iowa, transferred to Nebraska in June 2024 after a standout career at Northwestern College, where he earned the title of NAIA Player of the Year in 2023. During his tenure at Northwestern, he led the Red Raiders to significant victories, including a national championship in 2022.

 

At Nebraska, Gramstad was expected to bring depth and experience to the quarterback position. Head Coach Matt Rhule had expressed admiration for Gramstad’s leadership and work ethic, noting his potential to contribute both on and off the field.

 

The Cornhuskers community extends its deepest condolences to Jalyn’s family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time. The university is offering counseling services to support those affected by this tragic loss.
