Patti Smith Celebrates 50 Years of Art and Activism with Global Tour
Iconic musician, poet, and artist Patti Smith has announced a global tour to commemorate her 50-year career as a pioneering voice in music and activism. The tour, set to kick off in March 2025, will feature performances across major cities in North America, Europe, and Asia. Smith, who first gained fame with her groundbreaking 1975 debut album Horses, has long been celebrated for her ability to fuse punk rock energy with literary sophistication. Over the decades, she has remained a cultural icon, balancing her roles as a musician, writer, and activist.
In a recent statement, Smith expressed gratitude for her fans and reflected on her enduring career. “Fifty years ago, I stepped onto a stage, not knowing where the journey would take me. I’m thankful to have shared this path with so many people, and I’m excited to keep exploring and creating.”
The tour will also feature tributes to her late collaborators, including Robert Mapplethorpe and Fred “Sonic” Smith.
