Kansas City could still bring these guys back.

With a roster that is mostly set, the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl winners, can now focus on the

majority of their offseason activities.

Now that the 2024 NFL Draft has passed and free agency has slowed down, teams should turn their attention to the

demanding days that lie ahead.

Still, there could be room for the Chiefs to add a little more to this roster. Specifically, there are a few players who

were with Kansas City this last season which remain unsigned.

1. Donovan Smith, OT

He might not be the answer to start at left tackle, but veteran Donovan Smith would still be worth bringing back. The

Chiefs have two young players battling it out for that gig in second-round rookie Kingsley Suamataia

and last year’s third-round pick, Wanya Morris.

In 2023, Smith made a big retreat, particularly in the area of pass protection. His grade dropped last year from 70.0

in 2022 to 60.3, according to Pro Football Focus. That is a concerning disparity,

which might undoubtedly be caused by aging.

Smith, who is almost thirty-one, likely has few more years to live a useful life. However, Smith is a valuable addition

to a club hoping to win the Super Bowl yet again. If anything, this Chiefs attack might benefit

from supporting the young players and providing insurance to the right side behind Jawaan Taylor.
