Football League World reports that Rangers are interested in signing Aberdeen midfielder Connor Barron this

summer. The 21-year-old is expected to leave Pittodrie if the Dons are unable to reach an agreement on a new deal,

making him a possible steal with low transfer costs.

Barron, despite Aberdeen’s difficulties this season, has established himself as a vital member of the team.

His strong performances have not gone unnoticed, as Celtic, Swansea City (whose January bid was turned down),

and even Cagliari of Italy are vying with Rangers for his signing.

Barron is clearly a goal for Rangers boss Philippe Clement to bolster his midfield, especially in light of the team’s

recent Old Firm derby defeat. The necessity for reinforcements has been brought to light by Mohamed Diomande

and John Lundstram’s dismal performance in the middle of the park.

Rangers may consider adding more than one midfield player when Ryan Jack’s contract expires this summer.

Jack is also anticipated to depart.
