Slipknot Announces New Album and Global Tour for 2025
Des Moines, IA – Slipknot, the iconic heavy metal band known for their aggressive sound and theatrical performances, has announced the release of their highly anticipated eighth studio album, set to drop in summer 2025. The band also revealed plans for a massive global tour, marking one of their most ambitious undertakings to date.
In a statement released on their official website, Slipknot teased that the new album will “push the boundaries of heavy music,” promising a blend of their classic chaotic energy with fresh experimental elements. Corey Taylor, the band’s frontman, hinted at darker, introspective themes, inspired by personal and societal upheavals over the past few years.
The global tour, dubbed “The Chaos Reigns Tour,” will kick off in September 2025, beginning with a string of North American dates before heading to Europe, Asia, and South America. Fans can expect Slipknot’s signature high-octane performances, complete with elaborate stage designs, pyrotechnics, and, of course, their infamous masks.
The announcement comes amid growing speculation about the band’s future following lineup changes and solo projects in recent years. Despite the challenges, Slipknot has proven their enduring appeal, with their last album, We Are Not Your Kind (2019), debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and receiving widespread acclaim.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale January 15, 2025, with exclusive presale opportunities for members of the Knotfest fan club. The first single from the new album is expected to be released in March, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
Slipknot’s return solidifies their place as one of the most dynamic and influential bands in modern metal, and their 2025 plans promise to deliver another unforgettable chapter in their storied career.
