- WVU Wide Receiver Ric’Darious ‘DayDay’ Farmer Transfers to UCF
Ric’Darious “DayDay” Farmer, a freshman wide receiver from West Virginia University (WVU), has officially transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF). Farmer, who entered the transfer portal shortly after the conclusion of WVU’s season, committed to UCF on Sunday.
Farmer’s collegiate journey has come full circle. During his high school career at Melbourne Central Catholic in Florida, he initially committed to UCF but later flipped his commitment to WVU in December 2023. In his freshman season with the Mountaineers, Farmer recorded six receptions for 54 yards over 11 games. Despite high expectations, he saw limited action on the field.
Before his time at WVU, Farmer was a standout at Cocoa High School, leading his team to a state championship as a junior. His senior year further showcased his talents, with 63 receptions totaling 938 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Farmer’s decision to transfer to UCF reunites him with the program he once pledged to join. His addition marks the seventh transfer commitment for the Knights, joining players like Tulsa defensive tackle RJ Jackson and Maryland defensive back Brandon Jacob.
UCF, now a member of the Big 12 Conference, anticipates that Farmer’s speed and playmaking abilities will bolster their receiving corps. As the Knights continue to strengthen their roster through transfers, Farmer’s return to his home state of Florida is expected to provide him with more opportunities to showcase his skills in the upcoming season.
