In a surprising turn of events, Floor Jansen, the iconic lead vocalist of Nightwish, has announced her departure from the band after over a decade of contributing to their immense success. The Dutch singer, who joined Nightwish in 2012, confirmed her decision to leave the symphonic metal group to return to her roots and focus on her own band, ReVamp.

 

Jansen’s tenure with Nightwish saw the band reach new heights, with albums such as Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015) and Human. :II: Nature. (2020), solidifying their place as pioneers in the symphonic metal genre. Her remarkable vocal ability, blending operatic techniques with powerful metal screams, has captivated fans worldwide, and she became an integral part of the band’s evolving sound and success.
