A familiar face is back in the building — and for many Boston Bruins fans, it feels like welcoming home family.
Former Vezina Trophy winner and fan-favorite goaltender Linus Ullmark has reunited with the Boston Bruins in what many are calling a heartwarming return to where his NHL legacy took flight. While not yet official in the form of a contract, Ullmark’s presence back in Boston — whether in team circles, alumni functions, or off-ice training sessions — is sparking fresh hope of a full-circle homecoming.
Ullmark, 31, quickly earned a place in Bruins lore during his standout seasons in black and gold, most notably the 2022–23 campaign, when he dominated the league with a 40-win season and took home the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender. His easygoing personality, high-level play, and infamous goalie goal cemented his place as one of the most beloved modern Bruins.

Though he moved on in 2024 after a season split in the crease with Jeremy Swayman, his ties to Boston never faded — and it seems the feeling is mutual.
“It’s always going to feel like home here,” Ullmark reportedly said during a recent visit to TD Garden. “Boston means a lot to me — not just professionally, but personally. I built something special with the fans, and that never goes away.”
The Bruins organization has made no official comment about a possible return, but insiders suggest Ullmark remains highly regarded by the front office and locker room alike. With possible offseason goaltending changes on the horizon, a reunion — whether as a backup or in a new role — isn’t out of the question.
For now, Ullmark’s presence alone has stirred memories of recent glory and reminded Boston fans of the class, passion, and competitive fire he brought to the crease.
Whether this reunion marks a nostalgic visit or the beginning of a new chapter remains to be seen — but Bruins Nation has made one thing clear: Linus Ullmark will always be one of their own.
